The grapes are hand-picked for assured quality here, and the result is a thoroughly rounded mouthful of classic dry white Bordeaux.
Citrus zest, white flowers and wet stones are immediate on the nose, but these give way to ripe white orchard and stone fruit such as pear and peach on the palate. It stands up very nicely as a drink on its own but try it with a light salad, pasta or goat’s cheese.
The chateau is a beautiful Girondine building from the early 19th century, acquired in 1963 by the Carretero family, who began bottling at the Château in 1972. Since then the estate has grown to 47 hectares, certified 100% organic since 2012. At the winery the quality of their wine is starts in the vineyard. Their vineyard is worked to respect the vines, the life of the soil and the Terroir.
